Fancy and Beaux Training Together

We trained Fancy and Beaux together yesterday. It is good for them to learn to behave even with the distraction of another dog. Beaux has just begun his training and so far he is doing well with sit and down stays. He is still learning to "heel" and walk on a loose leash. Fancy is doing better with her distractions. She is still a puppy, however, with a puppy attention span. We always have to remember that she has a lot more maturing to do.

Hanging out on "Place"

Fancy and Beaux are learning to relax on their beds in the house. Beaux does great with this. Fancy is getting much better with this command even though her puppy playfulness has been a bit of a challenge. She is learning to settle down now and relax instead of constantly finding things to play with.

Fancy Training video

Here is a little video of Fancy doing some training. This is only after a couple of days of collar work. We are using a little food with her training that will be weaned out toward the end of her training.

Fancy Plays with Brita

Fancy gets the opportunity to play with the other dogs. Our Belgian Malinois puppy, Brita, and she are about the same size. They had a great time running around playing together. However, as her training progresses, she will learn that when I say that play time has stopped, she must come to me and obey what I ask of her. She again is doing well using a few treats along with the collar to get her attention. As you can see in the pictures. I am able to hold both of their attentions for a sit. This is very good for such young pups in the beginning stages of training.

Fancy Jo Begins Training

Fancy has begun her training. She is adapting well to the collar. She has a ton of energy and gets excited easily, however, she is a very smart little dog. She is also EXTREMELY food motivated. I am going to incorporate some of her training with food to help her understand what I am asking her to do a little better. She focuses so much more with the treats, that I believe using them will reinforce the commands I am teaching her. So far, we have worked on Sit, Sit-Stay, Down, Down-Stay, Come on, Heel and Place.
